Members

Membership to the Park Board is filled by nominations from the mayor with confirmation by the City Council. The seven-member board serves three-year terms and is staffed by the parks and recreation director.

Responsibilities

The Parks and Recreation Board is responsible for the acquisition, development, and maintenance of all city parks and trails. They are also responsible for the operation of the Community Center and all recreation programs provided to residents. The board acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council and has an operating program with independent responsibility.

Donations

Give a gift of community. The board welcomes donations of any amount in honor or memory of loved ones for the general support of parks and recreation or specified for certain programs or areas. Email parks and recreation or call 763-494-6501.

The Parks and Recreation Board, through its employees, is committed to providing prompt, responsive, and courteous customer service to the public in its quest to provide quality leisure opportunities through park and recreation facilities and services that meet the interest and needs of all city residents.
