Stormwater utility fee

Beginning in 2022, all Maple Grove property owners will see a stormwater utility fee on their quarterly utility bill. The implementation of this fee accounts for the costs needed to maintain the city's storm ponds as well as regularly repair and replace the city's storm system and storm drains. All are designed to prevent flooding due to stormwater.

The addition of this utility fee is due to the increasing costs associated with the maintenance of the city's storm system and its storm ponds. 

Cost of the fee

Based on the city's anticipated budget for operations and maintenance in 2022, the fee is estimated at $5.50 per month for residential homes. The cost to commercial, industrial, and institutional properties will be calculated based on the amount of impervious surfaces located on their property.
