Mayor's Monarch Pledge

The city proclaimed March 31, 2023, as Mayor’s Monarch Pledge Day, and Mayor Steffenson signed the National Wildlife Federation’s Mayors’ Monarch Pledge. In doing so, Maple Grove has officially committed to taking meaningful steps to protect the monarch butterfly.

Maple Grove can play a critical role to help save the monarch butterfly. In addition to the proclamation, the city plans to address a number action items to support monarch conservation.

Every resident of Maple Grove can make a difference by planting native milkweed and nectar plants to provide habitat for the monarch and pollinators in locations where people live, work, learn, play, and worship.
