[ARCHIVED] Stormwater utility fee

Person kayaking through small waterway and reeds heading towards lake

Starting in 2022, all Maple Grove property owners will see a stormwater utility fee on their quarterly utility bill. Based on the city’s anticipated budget for operations and maintenance in 2022, the fee is estimated at $5.50 per month for residential homes. For commercial and industrial properties, the cost will be calculated  based on the amount of impervious surfaces on that property.

The implementation of this fee accounts for the costs needed to maintain the city’s storm ponds and regularly repair and replace the city’ storm system and storm drains, which are all designed to prevent flooding due to stormwater.

Please use the call-in line at 763-494-6355 to ask questions or provide comments regarding the new stormwater utility fee.
